Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Head of Instructional Technology, the incumbent installs, maintains, and repairs a variety of computer workstations, laptops, network equipment, and servers. Act as backup for Senior Computer Technician. Installs and maintains all COB workstations, laptops and servers. Analyze operating systems and applications software for deployment in COB Plan, design, and deploy technical projects. Provide viable and thorough solutions to a wide variety of information technology problems for faculty, staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance and repair of computer hardware and software. Maintain and update COB inventory of equipment.
- Support Academic, Administrative, and Special Events technology needs.
- Safeguard personal and confidential information.
- Act as liaison for campus technical community and with off-campus vendors.
Experience in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of computer and network equipment. Ability to provide professional customer service when helping with technical issues.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related technical field and two years of related experience required.

Compensation
CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,678 - $11,547 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
