Job Summary
The TV Production Creative Technician provides video production support for Beach TV, CSULB's community television service available in a population area of more than 700,000 people and millions more through digital distribution and worldwide streaming activities. Also provides video production support for the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE) strategic goals and serves other campus needs, including technical consulting duties for the Broadcast Journalism program and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all tasks required for production of programs for Beach TV. Tasks include videography and postproduction.
- Work with, train and supervise student assistants who help in the operation and support of AMP and Beach TV. Included in this effort is providing video technical support for CPaCE, Broadcast Journalism, and other departments on campus.
- Engage in production and postproduction work to support CPaCE strategic initiatives, marketing, and the 2030 vision.
- Assist in production of other various projects, including studio and location shoots and postproduction editing, as assigned to support AMP and designated campus initiatives.
Thorough knowledge of video production techniques. Several years of hands-on experience, including camera operation, studio lighting, video editing, character generator operation, video switching and routing, audio control, knowledge of various digital distribution technologies and Windows-based office productivity software. Creation of computer graphics and video script writing. Ability to arrange Avenview signal distribution system for "video wall" monitors.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related professional or technical experience required.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: $3,761 - $4,522 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,761 - $6,803 per month

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for two years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
