Position Function: The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a residential school for academically gifted high school juniors and seniors devoted to the education of students who demonstrate extraordinary intellectual ability and a commitment to scholarship. The curriculum is designed to enable students to understand the past, investigate the present, and plan for the future. The Indiana Academy is located on the campus of Ball State University. This position supports the implementation of admission strategies; carries out an effective program to familiarize prospective students and their families with services provided by the Indiana Academy; supervises the organization and coordination of admissions and outreach events; oversees and implements the schools social media communication.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution by date of appointment. Experience developing and coordinating special events and activities; at least one year of related admissions experience; experience managing an organization’s social media communication. Excellent public speaking and writing skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills; outstanding computer skills including database management and ability to manipulate data between programs (import/export); proficient with Microsoft Excel; must have willingness to travel and have a valid Indiana driver’s license and be insurable under the University’s auto fleet policy; be willing to work flexible hours.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with gifted students; experience with middle and/or high school students; experience in a residential admissions setting.
