Job Description
Ball State University is seeking a dynamic person interested in working with our information security team. This role will focus on information security operations including monitoring, investigation, and forensics as well as audit and documentation. This position reports to the Director of Information Security Services and works collaboratively with the campus community to enhance security to fit the needs of the university and support their daily operations. Position Function: Provide technical support in all areas of Information Security Services for the Office of Information Technology; administer and coordinate enterprise security controls. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for Information Security Services as well as Information Technology in general.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
Or, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree:
- Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to two years.
Or,
- High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years.
At least two years of experience in a technology related field; must be highly available and be willing to participate in information security operations and incidents for the entire university; may require responding to or insuring the response of others on a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year basis.
Minimum Other: Must be fully eligible to pass/maintain relevant related background/records checks performed by the FBI or other government agencies; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in computer science, applied technology, ICS, MIS, or related technology field. Over five years of experience in a technology related field; relevant background in enterprise level systems architecture; relevant background in information security services.
Preferred Other: Industry recognized information security certifications such as CISSP, CSA, or CISA.
