Ball State University Information Technology is seeking an Enterprise Operational Reporting Analyst and Project Manager. In this role you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the institutional operational reporting solution. This will include working with functional users across campus, assisting in setting the direction for operation reporting, providing user training, and applying patches and updates to the environment. Position Function: Provide system expertise, support and assistance for all aspects of the operational reporting solution for Ball State under the direction and guidance of the Enterprise Project Support Office (EPSO) and Information Technology Interact with functional areas to make sure their reporting needs are being met and provide guidance on the best reporting options. Collaborate with Institutional Research and Decision Support (IRDS) team to provide the best solution for the client. Evaluate client requests to make sure that the operation reporting solution is the best fit for the need. Assist in evaluating reporting solutions and add-on products to help provide a more sustainable and reliable operational reporting environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
Or, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree:
- Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to two years.
Or,
- High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years.
At least five years of institutional reporting experience creating reports from a variety of data sources; demonstrated experience with working with end users supporting reporting needs. Experience with an operational reporting solution such as Evisions Argos or other industry leading reporting solutions. Strong understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and proven real-world experience using SQL. At least three years’ experience in working with and practical knowledge of ERP (Banner). At least one year of project management experience.
Minimum Other: Experience in communication and presentation skills; ability to quickly adapt and become familiar with university processes and procedures and quickly establish rapport and confidence among multiple university units and levels of the organization. Ability to meet with end-users to capture and understand needs and processes to make informed recommendations for process improvement or system solutions. Must be willing to assure the continuity of enterprise systems and be available to provide support assistance on a 24 hour-a-day, 365 day-a-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors or master’s degree in a technology or business-related program. Seven years of operational reporting experience at a higher education institution. Five years of Ellucian Banner ERP experience and knowledge and two years of project management experience. Demonstrated operational reporting experience in addition to any certifications. Experience with deploying new reporting solutions in higher education.
