Ball State University’s Unified Communications team is looking for a dynamic, goal-oriented member to provide data and voice connectivity to the University’s campus. This position will involve monitoring, maintaining and evolving the campus data and voice network to meet the ever-growing needs of the campus community. Position Function: The Technology Analyst position is responsible for maintaining network
reliability to ensure service for campus building and network customers. This includes monitoring and managing networking equipment, VoIP, video-conferencing, and wireless components. This includes, but not limited to routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, and monitoring software. Would also provide ongoing monitoring, analysis, configuration, and support of the unified communication infrastructure for moves, additions, and changes.

Minimum Pay: $50,000

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in information systems, computer science, or closely related IT field; OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in any area plus an additional combination of education and experience equivalent to four years. In addition to meeting the minimum education requirements, two years of technical experience in desktop support, server administration, or network administration. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write proposals, and act as a vendor liaison; ability to make presentations to professional peers, and work closely with IT management.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related IT field. More than two years of experience in data networking, VoIP, or video-conferencing communications; experience with computer facilities in a large organization or university setting. Positive consideration will be given to relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CWNA) and/or specialized training.
