Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Facilities Management, the Warehouse Laborer will assist with moving, delivery, storing, issuing and cleanliness of items stored in the Material Management warehouse.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of tools and skills of the trade as demonstrated by a practical exam. Ability to perform strenuous manual labor associated with moving. Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Experience working in a university or large institutional setting. Solid work record with a strong emphasis on personal integrity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform basic daily recordkeeping using a computerized system. Maintains a safe work environment. Communicates with the University community in a civil manner.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a high school diploma and a solid work history required. Equivalent to six (6) months of experience as a trades assistant or laborer, or six (6) months of hands-on experience in general facilities and warehouse environment, preferred
Licenses / Certificates
Valid California Driver's License required. Certified forklift operator's license preferred.

The salary range for this classification is $3,120 to $5,048 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
