In the role of Research Technologist II working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Research Technologist will under general direction carry out experimental design for sponsored research projects, including compilation and analysis of data generated.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine and complex experiments.
  • maintain mouse colony
  • Monitor inventory and order lab supplies; carry out assigned duties for ordering, maintaining supply of inventory.
  • Prepare media and maintain cells by various culturing in techniques.
  • Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data as needed.
  • Oversee daily lab operation in the absence of the supervisor or Principle Investigator.
  • Assist in development and implementation of research protocols.
  • Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of experimental results.
  • Help evaluate, interpret, and assess experimental data and quality control of assays.
  • Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment used in research.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Preferred Schedule:
Full time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.
  • Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work with mice and maintain different mouse strains.
  • Desired laboratory skills: DNA and RNA purification, PCR, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, cell culture, mouse handling, and immunology related techniques.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Required Experience: 1 year
