In the role of Research Technologist II working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our Research Technologist II will under general direction carry out experimental design for sponsored research projects, including compilation and analysis of data generated.


  • Carry out experimental designs for sponsored research project. Perform routine and complex experiments, including, but not limited to, biochemical assays, cell culture, transfection of cells with plasmids and viral vectors, RNA/DNA sequencing, and immunoblotting.
  • Assist with mouse colony management and experiments, including genotyping, as approved in the animal use protocol.
  • Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of experimental data and quality control assays as needed.
  • Oversee daily lab operation in the absence of the supervisor or Principle Investigator.
  • Assist in development and implementation of research protocols.
  • Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of experimental results.
  • Help evaluate, interpret, and assess experimental data and quality control of assays.
  • Prepare media and maintain cells by various culturing in techniques.
  • Monitor inventory and order lab supplies; carry out assigned duties for ordering, maintaining supply of inventory. Process related electronic processing and/or paperwork.
  • Operate, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment used in research.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.

Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.

Preferred Schedule:
Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum Required Experience: 1 year
