Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Precision Oncology
Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Cancer Center (CC), Froedtert Health Network (FHN) and Children’s Wisconsin (CW) are launching a transformative Precision Oncology (PO) Iinitiative. This PO Initiative will expand an already robust PO program that includes a strong group of basic and translational investigators interested in cancer genetics, nuclear architecture, and epigenetics, and harnesses a state-of-the-art bioinformatics and sequencing facility, tissue repository, and a robust investigator-initiated clinical trials pipeline. The MCW campus houses the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research, the Versiti Blood Research Institute, and the Genomic Sciences and Precision Medicine Center and is the hub for the FHN and CW. MCW, FHN and CW are the inpatient and outpatient market share leaders in cancer care in Southeastern Wisconsin with over 5,000 new cancer diagnoses annually. As part of the PO Initiative, MCW CC will seek the recruitment of 6-8 faculty within the next 3 years.
In the inaugural year of the PO search, MCW CC invites applications for faculty positions at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor with the long-term goal of developing novel therapeutic approaches to treat cancer. A particular area of focus is the influence of nuclear architecture (i.e. 4D nucleome) on epigenetics, gene regulation, cancer development, and response to therapy. As such, wet- or dry-bench investigators with expertise in nuclear architecture are encouraged to apply. While a cancer-focused research program is desired, it is not required. In addition, applicants with special expertise in imaging/biophysical based research programs to the address questions involving the 4D nucleome are encouraged to apply.
Academic appointment will be within a MCW department(s) most appropriate for each candidate and can be tailored to provide maximum synergy, along with membership in the MCW CC. These positions provide an attractive start-up package and outstanding opportunities for collaboration with basic, translational, and clinical investigators. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
