In the role of Research Program Coordinator III working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Operations in the Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CTO), the program coordinator will assist research managers and disease teams in logistical and operational feasibility assessments and implementation of research projects. There will be interaction with CTO staff including Research Managers, Education/QA, Central Services Team, Research Nurses, Research Coordinators, Research Assistants, Regulatory Specialists, Finance and Investigators. There will also be frequent communication and interaction with internal and external partners including pharmaceutical sponsors, Translational Research Unit (TRU) staff, pharmacy, IRB, oncology clinics, and inpatient support staff, and other Froedtert departments. The program coordinator will provide high level representation of the CTO with our clinical partners and MCW departments to remain compliant with the ever-increasing complexity of the cancer clinical trial portfolios.

Responsibilities:

• Support the research managers and research teams as a knowledgeable liaison to Froedtert and MCW department partners.

• Assist in the collection and evaluation of data surrounding the feasibility and capabilities of support for clinical research projects across the enterprise. Manage and update the CTO site profile.
• Assist in the preparation and documentation of the operational plan for clinical research projects. Be an active leader on the operational feasibility committee.

• Identify problems or obstacles in the system/procedures related to implementation of the research protocols and communicate to the Assistance Director of Operations.

• Provide or supplement staff education concerning research protocols, staff guidelines, and standard operating procedures as needed.
• Assist with the development and implementation of processes to ensure efficiencies between the CTO and collaborating departments. Utilize CTO quality improvement tools & process control to facilitate improvement of systems & processes.
• Supervise central operations staff and provide guidance on feasibility and activation of clinical research projects.
• Assist in development of standard operating procedures and guidelines for the CTO.
• Provide metrics to supervisor regarding changes in staffing needs for operational team.
• Possess a clear understanding of the clinical research project activation process. Assist in the organization of priority of research projects.
• Assist in providing metrics to CTO Medical Director, Administrative Director, and Assistant Director-Operations on activation timelines

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis
  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum Required Experience: 5 years
  • Preferred Experience: 5 years Clinical Research Coordination or Research Program Coordination
  • Field: Science or Program Coordination
  • Certification: CITI training within 90 days of hire
