This is a temporary, part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position working 19 hours or less per week Position is expected to end on or before 5/1/2023.

Educational Requirements for the Position
Master of Science in Athletic Training or a related field. Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing, licensed to practice athletic training in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure in Texas. Three years of experience in a related field. One to three years of clinical experience in athletic training preferred. Experience with scheduling in a laboratory or clinical setting, teaching experience at the university-level, or demonstrated experience working with diverse populations is desirable. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position
Prepares students for board certification exams, collaborates with the Athletic Training Program Director, Clinical Education Coordinator, and other program faculty to assist in the management of the Athletic Training Laboratory.

Primary Responsibilities

Facilitates Board of Certification preparatory sessions for students. Mentors and supports students through the learning of skills. Prepares and administers practical examinations and simulations. Monitors open labs and provides feedback to students. Collaborates with the Athletic Training Program Director, Clinical Education Coordinator, and other program faculty to assist in the management of the Athletic Training Laboratory. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications

Requires familiarity with common laboratory equipment in athletic training with the ability to learn and utilize technology such as Sim Man, electronic medical records, webcams, etc. Must be able to follow oral and written instruction, and to work a modified schedule to accommodate classes and special projects. May require frequent contact with students, staff, and faculty. May require work on weekends as needed by the department.

This is a temporary, part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position working 19 hours or less per week Position is expected to end on or before 5/1/2023.

Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
