In the role of Production Technician Sr. working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our Production Technician Sr is a quality assurance role supporting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) operations in the MCW Vector Production Facility. Performs quality assays and compares results to required release criteria to accept or reject clinical grade gene therapy vector manufactured in the facility. Approves regulatory (FDA) submissions. Monitors vector production, evaluates existing processes, and implements improvements. Conducts molecular assays for on-going clinical trials. Supports client pre-clinical data collection. Completes assays for on-going research and development in the lab.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing Vector and Cell Product quality analysis and quality control.
  • Prepare reports for FDA submissions.
  • Responsible for Vector and Cell Product in-process monitoring, as well as inventory of necessary raw materials.
  • Initiate, lead, conduct and support product development.
  • Develop and maintain the quality of products and processes, policies, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and operations.
  • Monitor and determine process equipment requirements and set-up to ensure equipment is compatible with processes.
  • Support on-going clinical trials with molecular assays.
  • Support client pre-clinical molecular assays.
  • Order facility reagents and equipment in consultation with facility manager.
  • Attend weekly facility meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Molecular Biology: Molecular assays including qPCR, ELISA, cloning, western and southern blotting, cell culture, and bacterial culture. Monitoring: Monitor performance of organization processes to make improvements or take corrective action. Problem Sensitivity: Identify when things are likely to become an obstacle or interfere with quality control. Critical Thinking: Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches.



Preferred Schedule:
Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.


Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Required Education: Master’s Degree
  • Minimum Required Experience: No experience required.

  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience in Molecular Biology. Previous experience in a GMP setting or biological/pharma manufacturing is an asset.
  • Field: Microbiology, Virology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or relevant field
