The digital team in the division of Marketing and Communications at Ball State University is responsible for oversite of bsu.edu and related sites, digital marketing efforts including emails, social media by the University’s primary branded accounts, and more. Members of the digital team are afforded the digital tools and platforms that ensure Ball State’s marketing efforts remains competitive and effective in an ever-changing digital landscape. Members of the digital team work collaboratively with other members of the Marketing and Communications division as well as with many partners around campus.

Position Function: The Digital Marketing Specialist manages the day-to-day activities associated with Ball State digital marketing. As a member of the Marketing and Communications digital marketing team, the Digital Strategist will assist with the creation, delivery, and maintenance of digital content to its various channels. This role will also provide consultation to campus partners in order to meet business goals and optimize Ball State’s digital presence for its various audiences.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. At least two years of experience with production and management on digital marketing channels and platforms. Strong interest and aptitude in developing and/or maintaining websites; ability to learn new skills quickly; meet deadlines, adhere to project production schedules, and prioritize a large number of tasks; must be detail-oriented; and have strong communication skills.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, telecommunications, graphic design, or related field from an accredited institution. At least three years of professional experience in maintaining and developing websites; experience working with a web content management system; web graphic design experience using multimedia programs such as Photoshop and Dreamweaver; basic knowledge of HTML; experience managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, experience with CRM Management Systems, and working as part of an integrated marketing team in a professional setting.
