Job Description

HNIP Student Services Coordinator: HACU is seeking a professional who can assist in managing and advancing HACU National Internship Program (HNIP)’s priorities and activities. He/she will be an innovative self-starter, a problem solver with excellent customer service, and someone with experience in project development and management. Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Federal Relations and HNIP, the Student Services Coordinator will assist in planning and coordinating HNIP’s activities and processes to support the recruitment, selection, placement, and successful development of the students’ internship experience with federal, state, and local non-profit agencies. He/she will manage programmatic efforts for HNIP, while working with Director of HNIP and Strategic Initiatives. He/she will also support the work of the program and provide exemplary customer service to our applicants, selected interns, and agency liaisons. He/she will also manage the professional development program for interns to include, but not limited to, identifying the speakers, and coordinating the logistics of the activity. He/she should have a service-oriented mindset, possess a passion to promote professional development for student advancement, have a professional presence, and be a competent public speaker. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in education, communication, business, social science, or related field, with 1-2 years experience in student services or student program development. Experience in service-related industries, project management, student development, and/or student recruitment. Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of tasks and responsibilities. Bilingual-English/Spanish Skills a Plus. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. (Located in Washington, DC)
