(JSI), a leading public health research and consulting organization dedicated to advancing the health of individuals and communities, is seeking an experienced individual to join our energetic and collaborative Bow, New Hampshire-based team as a Health Communications Specialist. JSI’s projects span a wide variety of topics including primary care/practice transformation, behavioral health integration, substance use prevention and treatment, health and racial equity including addressing social determinants of health, multisector approaches to advancing population health, maternal and child health, HIV prevention and treatment, emergency preparedness and response including COVID-19 response; and environmental health and justice, among others.

About the role:
We are looking for a Health Communications Specialist who thrives in a rapidly changing environment, is a problem solver, and is committed to advancing innovative approaches to improving health and racial equity. This position is expected to work collaboratively with teams to develop and execute creative and impactful digital marketing campaigns that exceed goals and drive behavior change. Initially, the Health Communications Specialist will work on assigned health communications projects including but not limited to substance misuse prevention. Over time, the Health Communications Specialist will support and manage other projects within the JSI portfolio, depending on their interests and skills, as well as project needs RESPONSIBILITIES The Health Communications Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

Digital Marketing and Strategy:

  • Develop strategic digital marketing campaigns.
  • Design and deploy digital marketing advertisements and campaign strategies.
  • Stay apprised of and make recommendations on the use of emerging digital tools and trends to optimize strategies.
  • Conduct campaign data analysis and reporting, which may include web analytics, performance and SEO, etc.
  • Work collaboratively to integrate digital advertising and promotion strategies into broader marketing campaigns.

  • Work collaboratively with team members across project activities.
  • Adapting to tight and evolving timelines, including management of work plan, and project activities; and coordinating and managing development and production of deliverables.
  • Contribute to non-digital marketing deliverable development, when appropriate. Deliverables may include reports, in-person and web-based presentations, and training materials and tools.

Business development:
  • Actively contribute to business development through proposal writing, development of relationships with potential clients, and generation of new project opportunities.

Internal learning and development:
  • Participate in groups and professional development activities that contribute to a strong office culture and social cohesion.
  • BA or BS in digital marketing, digital media, health communication, marketing, social media or relevant concentration and 2+ years of digital marketing/advertising/design experience OR an Associates Degree in marketing, advertising, business, communications, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in creating and executing successful digital marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrated interest in or passion for advancing health and health equity
  • Commitment to promoting racial equity and social justice
  • Superior organizational skills and high level of attention to detail with a flexibility and openness to design changes
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively and maintain timeline, budget, and deadlines
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities daily
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism and readiness to work independently, including with external clients and partners
  • Demonstrated experience maximizing the effectiveness of digital advertising strategies on a variety of existing and new media platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and reporting ad data for Google, Facebook, TikTok, and other new media.
  • Knowledge of campaign monitoring systems such as Hootsuite, Meltwater or Salesforce
  • Demonstrated experience managing a brand's/company’s/campaign’s social media communities and driving engagement
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite products and Google products, including Excel or Sheets for data analysis
  • Some knowledge of HTML, Animation, CSS
  • Understand the basics of Section 508 compliance

This position has an annual salary range that begins at $64,000, depending on years of experience. JSI offers competitive benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, and a 401k with a company match.
