Legislative Aide: Reporting to the Executive Director of Western States Policy and Outreach, assisting and advancing HACU’s legislative affairs and supporting outreach to Hispanic Serving Institutions. The Legislative Aide will monitor state legislation and ongoing advocacy efforts in the HACU western region, including Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington State. The Legislative Aide will collaborate with other HACU staff to develop and enhance relationships with HACU member institutions. The Legislative Aide will lead in planning WRO events and support existing programming. Additionally, the Legislative Aide will oversee the WRO social media accounts and website updates. Conducts and assists in research related to education and other policy areas for use in advocacy efforts. Attends meetings, hearings, and briefings convened by Gubernatorial and Legislative offices, education associations, and other interest groups when needed. Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in political science, public policy, or a related field. 1-3 years of legislative experience or proficiency required. Bilingual-English/Spanish Skills a Plus. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. (Located in Sacramento, CA)
