Job Description

This professional position supports these objectives, with its main functions being to (1) facilitate the University’s response to public records requests; and (2) coordinate the University’s overarching, multi-faceted campaign related to Freedom of Expression (“FoE”) on campus, including serving as the primary point-of-contact for campus community members regarding FoE-related matters. The position will also assist in contract review, legal research, and other projects as assigned.

Pay Range: $95,000-$110,000

Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school approved for accreditation by the American Bar Association. At least one year of relevant experience. Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex issues for a diverse audience; strong interpersonal skills; flexibility; and ability to collaborate in a collegial manner with administrators, faculty, staff, students and others.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working for an institution of higher education or a public/governmental entity.

Required Certifications: A member in good standing of the Bar of the supreme court of the state in which the person practices law, and prompt eligibility for such license and standing in Indiana.
