Job Description

Lane Community College, a comprehensive community college in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, has begun the search for the Title IX Coordinator.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for leadership in the administration, planning, implementation and evaluation of Title IX services. Coordinates and facilitates the institution’s compliance to Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Develops and implements educational programs regarding discrimination and sexual harassment prevention, ensuring faculty, staff and students understand their rights and, where applicable, responsibilities under the law. Oversees and coordinates investigations, responses and resolutions to complaints, to include training and supervision of Title IX investigators, hearing officers, certified advocates, advisors of choice, and any deputy coordinators.
Ensures all complaints falling under Title IX or other areas of harassment remain confidential as required by law.
Ensures college employees and students are provided with annual training as required by Title IX law and track completion rates.

Additional responsibility includes leading programs and initiatives to prevent discrimination and discriminatory harassment of students, employees, and others on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, disability, and the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability.
Collaborates with campus entities and college leadership to identify and address systemic problems. Remains knowledgeable of federal and state law and regulations, and trends within higher education related to harassment and other discriminatory practices. Identifies and integrates best practices into knowledge base and practice.

This position involves supervision of professional and support staff, budget administration, and formulation of unit policies and procedures and serves as the designated Title IX Coordinator under state and Federal law.
