Job Summary
The HR Program Specialist will perform various HR tasks and assist in HR administrative duties such as: coordinating the Staff/MPP Fee Waiver Program, assists with coordination of the Staff Development Center/Learning and Development team, manage the Staff Emeritus program, and provides project management and support for the AVP of HRM and other HR team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary contact and coordination for the Fee Waiver and Staff Emeritus program.
- Serves as the background screening lead, which includes submitting background checks for all new staff hires, temporary staff reassignments, volunteers, and student assistants.
- Reviews HRM SharePoint sites and websites to ensure that information is up-to-date, and links are working.
- Coordinates the full cycle of events as needed for HR department. This includes quarterly meetings, holiday parties, etc.
- Provides administrative, project and calendar support to AVP of HRM. Includes birthday card distribution.
Must be able work independently in a fast-paced environment as well as on a team. Must be willing to jump in the help the team complete projects and meet deadlines. Must have strong project management and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail. Must have high level of customer service skills. Must have solid writing and communication skills. Experience with business process mapping and documentation helpful. Must be able to interact with all levels of the campus community and be able to successfully communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Must have solid Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge, and the ability to successfully learn and use new programs, such as DocuSign. Must have solid organizational skills. Must have a positive, can-do attitude. Due to the sensitive nature of information in this position, strict confidentiality is required.

Compensation
Hiring Range: Up to $57,000/year. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,058 - $7,407 max per month
Benefits
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base
Full-time temporary position for (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
