Educational Requirements for the Position
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field. Two years of experience in one or more of the following areas: fund raising, sales, corporate relations, special events or a related field; three years experience preferred. Knowledge of Sam Houston State activities, policies, and University procedures would be helpful. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.Nature & Purpose of Position
Provide leadership and direction for the organization, growth and development of regional alumni clubs and constituent-based alumni programming. Identify, recruit, train and motivate volunteers to provide leadership for sustaining programs in support of the University’s strategic alumni relations goals and objectives.

This position will require a flexible work schedule, to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, some overnight travel and occasional holidays. Position duties include travel, therefore, a valid Texas driver license and reliable transportation is required. Position will at times include operating a University vehicle, therefore, a driving record acceptable to the University’s insurance carrier is required.
This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
