The Ball State University’s one-stop Center, Cardinal Central, is seeking a motivated individual to provide strategic oversight for training and operations in this newly created position. The individual will work closely with the Director and other staff to ensure employees can deliver high-quality student support to help the Center meet the goal and objectives of the university while developing skills to help individuals reach their potential. The Associate Director must create a positive learning environment, convey objectives clearly, encourage and motivate trainees, and evaluate learning outcomes. This newly created position will work collaboratively with other units and leadership to conduct a needs assessment and objectives, establish a deep knowledge of the business processes and systems use, design the training programs, administer training, and assess outcomes.
Position Function: Responsible for developing the knowledge and skills of staff in the One-Stop Student Success Center. Provide oversight to ensure that staff deliver high quality student support to help the Center meet the goals and objectives of the university while developing skills to help individuals reach their potential. This position will work collaboratively with other units and leadership to conduct a needs assessment establishing overall training objectives, establish a deep knowledge of the business processes and systems used, design the training programs, administer training, and assess outcomes. This position is responsible for creating a positive learning environment, conveying objectives clearly, encouraging, and motivating trainees, and evaluating learning outcomes. This position will provide excellent customer service skills and support frontline operations when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. At least two years of experience in a training or similar role. Excellent coaching skills, creativity, outstanding oral and written communication skills, and excellent presentation skills; computer literacy, innovative thinking, and good analytical and planning skills. Good interpersonal and presentation skills and ability to be flexible and work in an ever-changing team environment; good listener; event planning experience; and student focused mentality. Ability to work as a team member; ability to analyze and interpret data and make independent decisions. Ability to work in student systems and platforms including SIS, CRM, and other platforms.

Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience; higher education experience; data analysis and reporting experience.
