Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President of Health and Wellness, incumbent provides case management to high-risk students with psychological and social concerns who have been referred to the CARES Team. Incumbent will partner closely with on campus and off campus resources to support student health and wellbeing. Additionally, incumbent leads a team of case managers.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to articulate clinical work grounded in theoretical, philosophical foundation. Ability to assess, deescalate, and stabilize under pressure when needed. Knowledge of mental health and social services for college students preferred. Collaborate and coordinate with other campus partners to address a crisis or emergency when needed. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to make effective presentations, facilitate an open exchange of ideas, and write clear, concise notes, documents, and reports. Excellent writing and editing skills (including grammar, sentence construction, and vocabulary) to compose various documents to various audiences. Excellent oral communication skills to communicate diplomatically and effectively with co-workers, staff, and departmental staff. Ability to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure, and work effectively and productively as part of a team through close collaboration and coordination with colleagues and others. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and maintain a positive and respectful attitude. Working knowledge of standard safe work practices. Expertise and/or successful experience in crisis intervention and working with a broad range of clinical problems. Experience in research, analysis, and evaluation of clinical services and clinical data reports. Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to be able to prepare a wide variety of correspondence, reports, presentations, etc., including applications related to Counseling Center operations. Experience with electronic medical records, highly preferred. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations for mental health agencies. Evidence of progressive administrative and professional development, specifically in the area of mental health. Ability to work weekends and flexible work time as needed and determined by operational needs.

Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree with upper or graduate coursework in counseling and guidance, human relations, or related fields and four (4) years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required. Master's degree in social work or related field required. Four (4) years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required. LCSW/LMFT preferred.
Licenses / Certificates

Possess a valid California Driver's License to drive University vehicle, preferred.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,732 - $8,176 per month

Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base

Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
