POSITION: TENURE- TRACK POSITION IN EDUCATION- ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Educational Leadership (EDLD) at New Jersey City University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant/associate professor position in Community College Leadership beginning September 2022. The Ed.D. in Community College Leadership is an online program that develops leaders at all levels. As a member of the Carnegie Project on the Educational Doctorate (CPED) consortium, the program heavily emphasizes scholarly practice and is committed to promoting social justice and equity.

The EDLD Department is particularly interested in recruiting candidates dedicated to improving access and success for students of all backgrounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with a diverse student body, candidates will engage in effective and innovative online teaching practices, curriculum development, scholarship, service, advising and mentoring, and marketing and recruitment. This position will also involve serving on and chairing dissertation committees and coordinating the experiential learning component of the program. The position may also include Graduate Coordinator and/or Department Chairperson duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An earned Ed.D. or Ph.D. degree, administrative or faculty community college leadership experience, and teaching experience.
DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES: Passionate about social justice and equity, dedicated to supporting student success, strong work ethic, highly organized, adaptable to changing priorities, committed to increasing the diversity of future community college leaders, and an ability to effectively work with colleagues and external partners.
DESIRABLE SKILLS: Curriculum development; program assessment; research design and data analysis/interpretation; and providing high quality, supportive, and timely feedback, especially related to dissertations.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCES: Taught online courses, especially at the graduate level; track record of academic and public scholarship (i.e. journals, books, conference presentations, blogs) centered on social justice and equity, served on dissertation committee, acted as mentor, and coordinated experiential learning or similar programs.
Anticipated Start Date: September 2022
