Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
While the search will be open to highly qualified scholars specializing in any area of the Homeland Security enterprise, the Department is particularly interested in applications from scholars with expertise in the homeland security subfields of critical infrastructure protection, public-private partnerships in the homeland security context, or legal aspects of homeland security.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Successful applicants will have completed a PhD in a field of study that has prepared them to achieve excellence in university-level teaching and scholarship in one or more areas within the Homeland Security Enterprise. This can include, but is not limited to, the disciplines of homeland security studies, political science, or public policy.
Experience Required for the Position
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the potential to meet the traditional rigor of tenure-track academic work (teaching, scholarship, and university service). Significant practitioner experience within the homeland security enterprise will be considered an advantage.
