Job Description

POSITION: CAMPUS ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

LOCATION: CAMPUS LIFE

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Center for Leadership and Engagement and the Coordinator of Leadership and Student Government, the Campus Activities Advisor will be responsible for implementing, coordinating programs for the Center for Leadership and Engagement and overseeing the Student Activities Programming Board. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide professional and programmatic oversight, guidance, and support for the Student Activities Board

  • Create and maintain collaborative relationships with Student Affairs and other university departments, including the Division of Student Affairs, Academic Affairs and Athletics, to ensure the success of university-wide, student programming initiatives

  • Coordinate, manage, and supervise campus events involving the Student Activities Board and Center for Leadership and Engagement

  • Responsible for overseeing affinity months programming (i.e. Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Women’s

  • Provide programming resources, support and training for student clubs and organizations.

  • Assist in all social media marketing and promotion on student engagement platforms

  • Participate in the budget development for campus events and student activities.

  • The position will require flexible hours to include occasional evening and weekend hours, as well as additional travel

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic knowledge of the principles and techniques essential to performance of assigned responsibilities.

  • Ability to acquire basic knowledge of college policies and procedures.

  • Ability to understand, analyze, interpret and apply established law, regulations, policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines.

  • Ability to counsel students about college programs, activities and services.

  • Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and coordinate with other offices or organizations that impact on assigned responsibilities.

  • Ability to develop informative materials for publication.

  • Ability to represent the college by participating in or speaking at conferences, meetings, seminars, etc.

  • Ability to prepare clear, technically sound, accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.

  • Ability to prepare correspondence.

  • Ability to maintain essential records and files.
