Educational and Experience Requirement:
High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. No experience required, but six months clerical experience is desirable. One year of administering and proctoring standardized exams is desirable. One year of customer service/receptionist experience is desirable
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Performs clerical and standardized test administration duties for the Testing Center.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides program support for the Testing Center. Performs entry-level specialist functions to include data and document processing and provides general customer service. Performs data entry, verifies data and files. Performs receptionist duties, directs phones and walk-in customers, and schedules appointments. Runs standard reports. Solves routine problems (including technical issues) to complete tasks of a repetitive nature. Assists in proctoring all forms of standardized examinations including but not limited to exams for admissions and course placement, high stakes/certification exams, and distance learning examinations at the main campus and satellite campuses. Provides instruction and technical support to students during testing. Assists in accommodated testing with the use of adaptive/assistive technology and reading/transcribing of examinations. Assists in maintaining testing facilities and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:
Will vary with each project and departmental need. Requires basic knowledge of general clerical functions. Requires the ability to type, use a computer and operate general office equipment. Requires accuracy in all duties. Ability to certify as a test administrator/proctor for national, state, local, and regional testing programs. Ability to learn and enforce policies and procedures as set forth by the Testing Center in conjunction with each testing program. Strong computer skills, customer service and communication skills. Working conditions are usually good with little or no disagreeable elements but will vary from position to position. Work schedules may vary from normal working hours as required by program needs. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include occasional evenings and weekends. Work will require traveling to other locations to perform essential duties as required by programs. Requires the use of standard equipment common to most offices including computers. Must be accurate in business mathematics, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Must communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Maintains all required certifications and attend on-going training. Must be able to perform a variety of tasks, often changing quickly from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
This is a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position working 19 hours or less per week.
