Student Athlete Support Services, welcomes applications for our Academic Coordinator position within University College at Ball State University.

Position Function: Provide academic support, advising, and general support coordination for all student athletes.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment. At least one year of experience in education or related area. Superior interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Proficiency with MS Software, ability, and drive to learn other software. Must be flexible in regard to schedule with possible nights and weekends required.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred. Previous experience working with at-risk students at the collegiate level, intercollegiate athletics environment is a plus. Background in academic mentoring or developmental education. Knowledge of assessment tools and academic preparedness. Ability to arrange support for a diverse student population who have varied skill-sets, backgrounds, and readiness levels. NCAA continuing eligibility experience. Counseling background, knowledge of learning styles, and ability to redirect students toward academic goals. Knowledge of Banner, Degreeworks, and/or Navigate.
