Job Summary

Provide expert support to the Enrollment Services in areas of Student Services, Admissions, Financial Aid, Imaging, and Student Records. Incumbent will rotate through the various units in Enrollment Services to assist during peak seasons and for special projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert in-person for Student Services at Beach Central Intake windows in areas of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Records.
  • Assist Imaging Department with data entry, document imaging and clerical support.
  • Assist with evaluating and determining financial aid eligibility by performing verification and confirming general student eligibility criteria; provide administrative and clerical support for various Program Coordinators in support of financial aid processing activities.
  • Provide general office support in Admissions to the Freshman/Graduate, Residency and Transfer Credit units.
  • Researches, organizes, and processes registration-related forms and inquiries in the Student Records Department.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to learn, interpret and apply a wide variety of registration and grade-related policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate with ethnically and culturally diverse communities. Attention to detail and ability to identify data discrepancies. Ability to work under pressure balancing multiple priorities and deadlines. Knowledge of student information systems such as PeopleSoft, Microsoft Word, and Excel software. Ability to research and understand University policies.

Documentation of Roles and Responsibilities: Ensures operational integrity and continuity by maintaining detailed descriptions of responsibilities, ranging from daily tasks to strategic activities and outcomes, and makes them available to supervisor.

Data Integrity: Ensures quality, usability, and integrity of system data by working within approved processes and testing procedures.

Collaboration and Teamwork: Understands, commits, and constructively supports team goals, issues, and decisions, holding themselves accountable to team objectives.

Effective Communication: Able to tell a story based on data to inform and influence decisions.

Relationship and Network Building: Uses collaborative behaviors to build relationships, affect change, influence decisions, and achieve mutual strategic goals. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,505 - $5,508 per month

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
