Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Technology Support Services and working in a team environment, the incumbent is responsible for supporting computers in university classroom and lab environments, providing desktop/user support in classrooms, labs, and office environments, assisting with hardware inventory, and working with technical team members on campus to execute division and university initiatives. This position provides functional administration of enterprise systems including email, listserv, Active Directory, campus print servers, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools. Performs customer support services including maintaining computing hardware and software systems by ensuring system proper system functionality, software updates, and resolving technical issues including Campus Computing Account issues. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems, which may include training, consultation, and technical/end-user documentation. The incumbent works in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to provide service in-person, on-line (chat, email, etc.), over the phone, through help desk tickets, and self-service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting computers in university classroom and lab environments
- Providing desktop/user support in classroom, lab, and office environments
- Maintain library of documentation and inventory of assets
- Communicate clearly and effectively, with technical and non-technical individuals within a culturally diverse campus environment. Maintain a professional demeanor.
- Maintain IT professional standards of anonymity for data that resides on campus servers and computer systems.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information. Attend and participate in departmental and team meetings.
Detail oriented to support repeatable processes to minimize errors in mass software deployments. Experience utilizing the Internet to research and resolve complex technology problems in software deployment, operating system configuration and management and automated tools for Windows and Macs. Experience using software deployment tools such as Microsoft SCCM and/or Specops Deploy preferred. Experience working with enterprise ticketing systems such as TeamDynamix or BMC Footprints preferred. Experience in a higher education technology team a plus.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related technical field required. Two (2) years of experience providing desktop and user support in large enterprise or higher education institutions supporting both Windows and Apple OS systems preferred. Two (2) years of experience working on technical projects preferred.
Licenses / Certificates
CA Driver's License preferred.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,713 - $7,147 per month
