Job Summary
Under the immediate supervision of the Department Coordinator, provides clerical support for the Department of Advanced Studies in Education and Counseling with an emphasis on serving students and faculty by answering phones, emails and assisting office visitors.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Punctuality, attendance, and dependability is required. Knowledge and demonstrated experience with Excel and Word. Knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft. Knowledge and experience with university policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and to be a team player. Ability to work in fast-paced environment. Ability to interact politely. Has patience, be professional, and efficiently interact with many visitors and callers. Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling is required.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to three (3) years of administrative support experience required.

Compensation
The salary range for this classification is $3,338 to $4,913 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for two (2) years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Additional Information
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
