Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President, the Financial Resources Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures to manage the fiscal resources and administrative functions for the programs and departments that report to Academic Affairs' Vice Provosts and Associate Vice Presidents. In addition, the incumbent assists with overseeing the division-wide budget and implementing multiyear financial plans.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Extensive and in-depth budgetary knowledge and strong skills working with budgets for large departments or areas. Demonstrated strong analytical skills working with strategic budget planning and implementation. Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency under pressure. Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills to work with all levels of staff and administration. Ability to work independently in providing senior staff with sound recommendations. Demonstrated managerial skills and knowledge in staff training and professional development. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, department heads, supervisors, various university offices, and patrons. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a flexible and collaborative manner. Ability to compile and analyze information, including financial and statistical data, and make recommendations. Ability to effectively communicate with and influence high-level and diverse contacts. Ability to effectively use all communication methods and formats and to use expertise to achieve short- and long-term goals and objectives. Ability to be an active and sensitive listener. Ability to utilize independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in performing job responsibilities. Ability to think critically and provide appropriate and sound resolutions to problems. Ability to set own priorities for work to be done and meet deadlines. Knowledge of university personnel, budgetary and accounting processes preferred. Skills related to the organization of people, processes, and tools in an academic setting preferred. Strong computer skills in using software application such as Excel and Word. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Common Management System preferred. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree (preferably in Business Administration) and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience required. Experience analyzing budgets and financial management combined with strong analytical skills. Previous management experience.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $86,880 to $130,320 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
