- M.F.A. in Screenwriting or terminal degree in a related field. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the terminal degree by August 1, 2023.
- An emerging record of creative activity in screenwriting
- Two years of experience teaching feature screenwriting or writing for television courses at the college level
- Demonstrated commitment to developing and teaching an inclusive curriculum to a diverse student population, especially through intersectional approaches to gender, race, ethnicity, and class.
- Demonstrated potential for sustained growth and success in research, scholarly, and creative activities
- Experience with multiple modes of instruction (in-person, hybrid, online)
- Experience teaching multiple forms of screenwriting (short and feature length film, episodic/serial television, web series, video games)
- An emerging record of screenwriting that reflects and elevates characters from underrepresented groups such as Feminist/Queer/Trans/LGBTQIA+; Black American/African/Diasporic; Latinx, Indigenous, AAPI; and/or differently abled communities
- An established record of mentoring young screenwriters (particularly from underrepresented groups)
- Specific knowledge of, and experience in, current industry screenwriting DEI initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise in developing effective online instruction

- Develop and maintain ongoing research, scholarly, and creative activities leading to awards, presentations, and publications
- Collaborate with faculty to develop curriculum and coordinate/expand interdisciplinary collaborations and screening events with other departments on campus including study abroad initiatives

- Assist in identifying and recruiting part-time faculty
- Act as program liaison with professionals in the field
- Participate in service to the department, college, university, and local community
