The Department of Management in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) seeks applicants for a Department Chair and Tenured Professor beginning Fall 2023.

The Department of Management is a collegial group consisting of sixteen tenured and tenure-track faculty members and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees. The College of Business at UTSA is one of the largest business schools in the nation; is AACSB accredited; offers a variety of master's programs as well as Ph.D. programs in six areas; and ranks second in the nation in the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanics. UTSA is a comprehensive public metropolitan university that serves approximately 34,000 students on three campuses in San Antonio. It is located at the edge of the scenic Texas Hill Country and offers the amenities of a major multicultural, metropolitan area. Salary and the supporting start-up package are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. UTSA offers an attractive package of benefits including medical and dental coverage plus a choice of participation in the Teacher Retirement System or an Optional Retirement System.

Hours per Week
Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions
Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to provide academic leadership, mentor faculty and students, conduct and publish high-quality scholarly research, teach undergraduate and graduate management courses, work collegially with and be sensitive to the needs of faculty and students from a culturally diverse urban population, and support the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in management or a related discipline Strong evidence of scholarly research with a portfolio of research in management and current engagement in an active research program in the field. Strong record of publications appropriate for a full professor of management, including recent placements in top journals in the field. Effective teaching Evidence of academic leadership, including the ability and desire to work collegially with and be sensitive to the needs of faculty and students from a culturally diverse urban population The ability and desire to mentor management Ph.D. students. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse urban populations and support the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading, supporting and developing faculty in their efforts to incubate, grow and sustain nationally recognized research portfolios.
