- Coordinates all operational functions of the CCE to provide an environment that fully supports the mission, purpose, and priorities.
- Maintains the physical office space, equipment, supplies, and general office systems and procedures.
- Responsible for overseeing student staff, timekeeping, and payroll, and completing and submitting forms, requests, and other actions required by other campus units and/or community entities.
- Coordinate the financial activities of the CCE to ensure that all financial transactions comply with university regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Provide program-specific support for various CCE programs, projects, and initiatives.
Management and organization skills (operation of Center). Program planning, management and organizational skills. Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Knowledge of campus policies and procedures. Logistics as related to on-campus and off-campus services, departments in relationship to arrangements and purchasing for meetings, lectures, seminars, large special events, and workshops, and for inquires for services by telephone. Prior work experience with community-based organizations. Working knowledge of issues relating to an urban community as well as issues relating to higher education. Accounting as related to maintaining databases and spreadsheets and reporting on Center's activities. Expertise in database management.
Working knowledge of computer programs and basic information as related to all of these items. Working knowledge of database programs, E-Mail, Calendaring, and Internet. Knowledge and experience in web design and web page programs is desirable. Ability to research, analyze, and interpret data and make recommendations. Ability to deal simultaneously with multiple tasks. Strong communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal) Excellent writing and proofreading skills. Public Relations and Social Media as related to planning and preparing for events, workshops, newsletters, and advertising for Center and campus awareness of Center's activities. Communication as related to correspondence, public relations, telephone, and receptionist duties, and interaction with faculty and staff. Group facilitation skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse personnel in community and governmental agencies. Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds (e.g., gender, race/ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, and disability).
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Campus experience preferred.
- Equivalent of three years professional experience directly related to this position preferred.

The salary range for this classification is $3,440 to $5,639 per month.
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
