Job Summary
The CSULB Antelope Valley Engineering Program (AVEP) Recruiter position is intended to lead applicants to the mechanical and electrical engineering degree completion programs through personal contact, providing accurate program information, referrals, and information regarding the major of choice. The position is also designed to connect with high school and college students, high school and college personnel as well as members of the general public who may have interest in obtain information about the AVEP program as a basis for sustaining and increasing the enrollment of the AVEP.
Key Responsibilities

  • Make personal contact with potential AVEP program applicants, high school and college administrators and the general community in-person and online.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong communication skills are required to present to schools, colleges and universities, students, instructors, administrators, program leads and counselors as well as general public with interest in the AVEP. Program knowledge and presenting accurate information online, social media, via televideo and in person. Knowledge of communication tools: email, Zoom, Teams, and social media platforms. Knowledge of how to use social media, obtain and report data from various accounts.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field and one year of directly related experience required. Experience as a recruiter, college admissions, outreach, or business development preferred.

Compensation
The targeted salary may be set as high as $4,189 per month based on experience. The salary range for this classification is $3,796 to $5,369 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Additional Information
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
