Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Responsibilities: effectively teach applied viola students at various levels of accomplishment, actively recruit and retain talented students, coach chamber ensembles, and perform with the Kolonneh Chamber Players (faculty ensemble combinations). If desired, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to teach music related courses depending on needs and interests.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Viola Performance required.
Experience Required for the Position
Candidates with extensive studio teaching experience preferred. Demonstrated success as a solo and chamber performer expected. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential and is in keeping with the needs and mission of the School of Music.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an interest in developing a comprehensive musical awareness in all students and will work effectively with faculty colleagues to enhance the offerings of a dynamic and growing string department.
