Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Under the coordination of a higher supervisory officer is responsible for performing basic professional functions using established policies, procedures, precedents, and guidelines; does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as a Career Coach for the School of Business planning and implementing career services for students, alumni and employers.

• Provide Career Services to students and alumni within the School of Business which includes career advising, conducting employability skills workshops, and communication of opportunities via e-mail, social media, and other outreach efforts.

• Assist Director of Career Services in the planning and organizing of services and programs at the School of Business and providing outreach to engage students and partners.

QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Skill in assessment and treatment of persons from diverse populations.

• Knowledge of student programs and activities.

• Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.

• Ability to market and promote opportunities and services to increase student engagement

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Knowledge of career counseling tools and resources.

• Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions, not limited to: Microsoft Office, Google Documents, LinkedIn, Instagram

EDUCATION: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree and/or Career Services/Workforce development experience preferred.)

EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience related to the duties of this position.
