The Department of Music at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Commercial Media Composition at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will teach courses in the Commercial & Media Writing curriculum, including Media Composition and Media Orchestration. They will also be expected to give private lessons in composition, supervise the required internship program, conduct the Studio Ensemble sight reading lab, and engage in creative activity in commercial visual media (e.g. film, television, gaming, or other media).

In addition, the successful candidate shall have:
- A graduate degree in a discipline appropriate to the position required; terminal degree preferred.
- College or University-level teaching experience.
- Professional Experience in commercial music composition (for example, film, games, TV, trailers, music production libraries)
- Active engagement with contemporary film, television, and other media composition community.
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated effective engagement with a racially diverse student body
- Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that lead to equitable outcomes for all students
- Experience creating a student-centered learning environment
- Recording and conducting experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience adopting inclusive approaches to research and mentoring
