Job Description
Ball State University is seeking a Human Resources professional to join our team to lead efforts in developing strategies and processes to create a pipeline of qualified and diverse candidates. This is a relatively new role at the University and the Assistant Director will help us redesign our talent acquisition and onboarding programs.

Position Function: In conjunction with the HR leadership team, serve as a consultative leader to provide strategic and operational direction for talent acquisition and onboarding initiatives to include developing strategies and processes to create a pipeline of qualified and diverse candidates. Provide daily management and direction to the Talent Acquisition function. Work collaboratively with the university community to ensure the unit provides a high level of customer service, with a focus on positive issue resolution.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Five years of experience in full cycle recruitment (writing job descriptions and qualifications, developing recruitment strategies, assisting with the onboarding of new employees, etc.); Experience using an online talent acquisition system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Serves as the HR Talent Acquisition and Onboarding subject matter expert.

• Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.
• Develops political savvy when implementing initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience; Process improvement experience.
