Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for Student Success and Dean of University College, the Associate Dean of University College will provide decisive leadership, creative thought, and innovative skill sets to the day-to-day leadership of University College programs and initiatives. The Associate Dean is charged with meeting a wide range of academic needs and delivering programs that enhance student success, persistence, and retention. This position has primary oversight of data analytics, the first year experience, academic coaching, and other specialized student success related initiatives.

Position Function: The Associate Dean is charged with meeting a wide range of academic needs and delivering programs that enhance student success, persistence, and retention. This position will have primary oversight of data analytics related to student success, the first year experience, academic coaching, and other specialized student success related initiatives. They will develop systems and processes to measure and assess the effectiveness of student academic support services and the impact of those services on retention, graduation, and student learning objectives; develop and disseminate key performance indicators and accompanying reports on students success; and adjust programs and services as needed to improve outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited University. Five years of progressive experience in areas such as advising, student success, career services, higher education, and student development. Experience with data analysis; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited University. Demonstrated record of leading innovative and equity focused student success initiatives in a higher education setting; proven knowledge of trends and best practices in higher education as they relate to retention; an understanding of how to leverage predictive analytics for student success and retention across the university for all students across demographic identities, academic colleges, and co-curricular programming activities.
