Job Description

The School of Music at Ball State University invites applications for full-time contract, non-tenure-line position in Musicology, with a specialization in American music or popular music from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and World music, beginning in August 2022. We seek applicants who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations.

Minimum Qualifications:
ABD in musicology from an accredited PhD-granting institution by date of employment; demonstrated potential for excellence in college-level teaching and demonstrated potential for significant contributions in the area of research.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Earned Doctorate in musicology from an accredited, PhD-granting institution by date of employment; demonstrated potential for excellence in college-level teaching and demonstrated potential for significant contributions in the area of research; related experience in string bass, music theory, and piano accompanying.
