Educational and Experience Requirement Bachelor’s degree in related field. Two years relevant specialist experience or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education and specialized work is desirable. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the SHSU Academic Success Center/First-Year Experience programs.

Primary Responsibilities Provides leadership and department representation for Academic Success Center First-year programming. Assists the Assistant Director in implementing programming for/with peer educators and campus partners in the pursuit of providing an exceptional student experience in UNIV 1101 courses and learning communities. Accountable for the execution and follow through of activities and events involving complex collaborations and communications with multiple partners and students. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates and monitors programs and services. Assists in responding to information requests from students (prospective and current), faculty, staff, and campus partners. Coordinates and implements departmental processes as assigned. Monitors project timelines and identifies issues. Prepares letters, correspondence, and reports. Plans and coordinates events. Provides assistance with and interprets policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
