Job Description

The Department of Economics in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University invites nominations and applications for a full-time tenured or tenure track position in the Department of Economics who will also serve as the Director of the Institute for the Study of Political Economy at Ball State University August of 2022.

Major responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a research agenda that will garner national recognition through published scholarship in political economy, free enterprise, entrepreneurial or business economics;
  2. Play a leadership role in political economy, free enterprise, and entrepreneurial or business economics research in the Department of Economics;
  3. Develop and deliver a curriculum in political economy, free enterprise, and entrepreneurial or business economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels;
  4. Energetically pursue external funding; and
  5. Serve as Director for the Institute for the Study of Political Economy. Appointment will begin on August 19, 2022.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics or related field from an accredited college or university; two years of administrative experience; publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated potential for continued excellence in research, teaching and leadership in areas related to political economy, free enterprise, and entrepreneurial or business economics. Five years of academic administrative experience, preferably related to the management of academic centers or institutes.
