SQL Developer for Data Warehouse Technology

Ball State University is seeking an energetic person interested in working with the latest enterprise and warehouse database technologies. If you are excited about the challenge of deploying a new warehouse system at a large university, you may be the candidate we’re looking for. As a SQL Developer for Data Warehouse Technology, you’ll be working with a team to implement a new warehouse solution for the campus. Your role will also work collaboratively with Institutional Research and Decision Support and others in the campus community to enhance warehouse systems to fit the needs of the university and support their data needs. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by date of appointment. Or, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree: 2. Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to two years. Or 3. High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years.
One year’s experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or public sector developing and maintaining data reporting systems and infrastructure. Strong technical expertise in data management, development of database applications and understanding of business intelligence and relational database concepts. Experience gained through professional employment or internship experience will count towards this requirement. Competency and proficiency with ETL using a variety of data sources and destinations. Demonstrated expertise in IT project leadership spanning all phases of development; proven verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated competency in SQL.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of database experience. Demonstrated expertise in enterprise application development environments used by IT for the development of Internet applications; demonstrated expertise in administering relational database management systems; and experience in data warehouse support. Experience in process improvement projects.
The minimum salary for this position is $65,000.00.
