Benefits Specialist
Ball State University
Ball State University welcomes applications for a Benefits Specialist. This position is responsible for administering all benefit plans, conduct benefit presentations and benefit training events, provide customer service and resolve employee benefit issues, provide benefit communications, ensure accurate accounting of insurance expenses, and project management.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; OR Associate’s Degree plus an additional 2 years of related experience; OR High School diploma plus an additional 4 years of related experience. At least one year of benefit administration, human resources, or related experience; proficient in Microsoft Excel; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of benefit plans and terminology, including consumer-driven benefit programs; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with both internal and external partners and customers; strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, strong interpersonal relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability and commitment to creating a culture of service excellence; highly organized and detailed oriented; ability to manage several projects simultaneously and work under tight timelines.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, finance, human resources or related field. At least three years of experience in benefits, human resources, or related field; experience using Banner and on-line enrollment systems. Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, PPACA, and IRS Regulations.
