Basketball Academic Coordinator

Ball State University

Ball State Student Athlete Support Services is seeking a Basketball Academic Coordinator. This individual will assist in developing and implementing academic support services for student athletes; assess the needs and coordinate individual services to promote academic success; advise while monitoring continuing eligibility of student athletes.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree by date of appointment. At least one year of experience in education or related area. Superior interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Proficiency with MS Software, ability, and drive to learn other software. Must be flexible in regard to schedule with possible nights and weekends required.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in monitoring and arranging support for a diverse student population. Experience working with at-risk students at the collegiate level, preferably in an intercollegiate athletics environment. Experience in academic mentoring and developmental education. Experience with assessment of academic preparedness. Experience with NCAA continuing eligibility. Counseling skills and knowledge of learning styles. Knowledge of Banner, Degreeworks, and/or GradesFirst.
