Burris Laboratory School has a full-time contract Reading Interventionist position available.
Burris Laboratory School was established to provide a stellar K-12 educational environment in which pre-service teachers from Ball State University observe and provide learning opportunities for students with highly effective teachers using innovative instructional strategies aligned with Indiana standards.
The Reading Interventionist will develop evidence-based lesson plans and deliver individual and small group instruction within established curriculum guidelines for identified students and monitor and evaluate student progress. Collaboration with university faculty, Burris educators, pre-service teachers, other professional staff and administrators to address instructional and/or classroom challenges, and effective communication with parents and guardians are needed to support the vision and mission of the school.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from an accredited university by date of appointment. Must hold or demonstrate eligibility for Indiana teaching certification in Elementary Education by date of appointment.
- Experience: At least three years of continuous reading instruction in grades K-5; evidence of knowledge and skill in using educational technologies.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
- Education: Master’s degree in Elementary Education from an accredited university with a Literacy Specialist license or have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Level I reading certification.
- Experience: At least five continuous years of experience teaching reading in grades K-5; evidence of knowledge and skill in using educational technologies.
Required Certifications/Licensures: Hold or demonstrate eligibility for Indiana teaching certification in Elementary Education by date of employment.
