Ball State University’s East Central Indiana – Small Business Development Center is accepting applications for a Business Advisor. This position is expected to be full-time with benefits. It is possible that we may fill multiple positions from this posting.
The East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (ECI-SBDC) creates a positive and measurable impact on the formation, growth, and sustainability of Indiana’s small businesses by providing entrepreneurs expert guidance and a comprehensive network of resources. Ball State University serves as the host for the ECI-SBDC.
This position will have a positive and measurable impact on the formation, growth and sustainability of small businesses in Indiana.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in business, accounting, communications or related field. Three years experience in business and/or industry management experience. Significant, successful small business ownership or management experience can be substituted for academic qualifications.
Other Required Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in counseling, consulting, or advising businesses
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with case and project management skills
- Experience in preparing and reviewing business plans and loan packages
- Experience with computer hardware and software (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, use of the Internet)
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, communications or related field. Small business ownership or business management experience; public speaking proficiency; demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors; ability to work effectively with leaders in the private and public sectors.
