Job Description

The University of Arizona’s College of Applied Science & Technology (CAST) is a National Security Agency (NSA) designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO) and an Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) designated Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence (IC-CAE). CAST is seeking an Assistant Professor who will teach undergraduate courses within our Cyber Operations and Intelligence & Information Operations programs. The candidate will teach courses in the areas of Security-related Python Scripting, Machine Learning/AI, and Software-based Security Analysis. The candidate should have one or more of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Security-related Python scripting/programming and analysis
  • Demonstrable experience with Python-based machine learning/artificial intelligence experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using one of the following IDEs: Wing IDE, Sublime IDE, or Visual Studio IDE

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree (or higher) in in Cyber Operations, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field

Previous teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous online teaching experience

Demonstrated experience with IETF related security standards

Demonstrated experience Python/C and security-related course development

Demonstrated successful cybersecurity-based research experience with the U.S. Government, including but not limited to AFRL, DARPA, DIA, NSA, ARL, NRL and NIJ

Demonstrated experience designing and developing Cloud based security solutions on AWS, Azure and/or Google platforms

Demonstrated experience using Lambda functions within Cloud based security environments or other Microservice based solutions

Track record of 10+ years of cybersecurity or forensic related consulting experience

A software/system security related background

Experience with secure software development best practices

Software reverse engineering experience, including both static and dynamic analysis

A Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred but not required
